Student Development courses (STU) are intended to promote student success.
These courses focus on a wide range of subjects:
These classes are taught by counselors or advisors who have the experience to facilitate the learning students need.
(3 Credits) Strategies and techniques to maximize academic performance. Skill development in analytical and critical thinking, research skills, memory enhancement and observing, recording and reviewing academic information. Recommended for students seeking to improve their current level of academic success.
(1 Credit) Exploration of the career planning and decision process. Recommendation for students with undecided majors or individuals wanting to make a career change.
(2 Credits) Exploration of the career decision-making processes, including personal assessment, career exploration and goal setting. Emphasis on developing career planning strategies. Introduction to job search techniques. Preparedness recommendations: skills assessment into ENG 100 or higher.
