Chino Valley Agribusiness & Science Tech Center

  • Yavapai College FFA Mid-Winter CDE
  • Yavapai College FFA Mid-Winter CDE
  • Mid-Winter CDE is designed to develop agricultural competencies for high school students who are interested in exploring and pursuing a career in the agricultural industry. This event is to encourage the development of broader analytical skills, critical thinking strategies and an understanding of appropriate agricultural terminology.

About the Campus

The Chino Valley Agribusiness & Science Technology Center houses programs in agribusiness technology, residential building technology, hydroponics, equine science, sports turf management and fisheries management and offers general education classes, including English, mathematics and science.

YC's Agribusiness programs give students hands-on experience by putting them to work in high tech facilities right away to learn their field. The program earned the Outstanding Postsecondary/Adult Agricultural Education Program for the Western United States from the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) for 2005. The residential building technology program is a two-time winner of the national greenbuilt house of the year.

The award-winning "green" facility minimizes environmental impact and takes advantage of the site upon which it is built with xeriscape landscaping, rainwater harvesting, solar water hating, a geothermal heat pump system, an energy management control system and other features.
