Prospective Families

Enrollment Priority
Yavapai College students who are pursuing a degree or certificate, and are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester, received enrollment priority at the FEC. Within the student group, those who are low-income and those receiving DES childcare subsidies are further prioritized. Yavapai College faculty and staff receive the next priority, followed by community families. Once a child is enrolled in the program, their slot is secure; they will not be bumped out to make room for a family with higher priority.
Due to a high level of interest in our program, there are waiting lists for most classrooms. Interested parents should complete and submit a waiting list application.
Applications can either be submitted via email from this site, or faxed to 928-777-3137.
Enrollment Process
- All interested parents must complete an application.
(Submit via email or fax) - Available slots in each classroom will be offered to the family with the highest priority status.
- 1st priority – YC students
- 2nd priority – YC employees
- 3rd priority – Community families
- If there are two or more applications from the same priority group, enrollment will be offered first to any sibling of a currently enrolled child, and second to the applicant with the earliest date of application within that priority group.
- At the discretion of the director, variations may be made to these enrollment policies to achieve specific goals (e.g. balancing FT/PT slots, achieving gender balance, meeting the needs of children in the CPS system, etc…)
- Once a slot is offered to a family, they must complete the registration process and submit a registration fee (equal to one week’s tuition) within one week.
