The Literary Southwest begins its second season:

This year's program features some of the Southwest's most prominent authors from diverse backgrounds who work in multiple genres. These multicultural authors will provide fresh perspectives on the cultures of our region. Each of the four readings, spanning the fall and spring semesters, will focus on a specific topic. 2010 Fall Schedule of Events
(all events are free and open to the public)

All events are held in the Susan N. Webb Community Room (first floor) at the Yavapai College Library. Each event  starts at 7 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 24th: "Narrative Propulsion" featuring

• Ron Carlson - Master fiction craftsman and director of the Graduate Program in Fiction at UC Irvine.
• B.H. Fairchild - Winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award and a National Book Award finalist in poetry.

Thursday, October 21st: "YC Explorations" featuring

• a reading by Yavapai College Creative Writing Faculty - Readings by Yavapai College Creative Writing faculty from their current works.

Friday, November 19th: "Worlds Together" featuring

• Alan Dean Foster - A prolific force in American science fiction and a world adventure traveler.
• Eloise Klein Healy - Widely-anthologized poet whose work is "electrifying, provocative, and hearthwrenching."
