The Yavapai College EMS / Emergency Medical Services and Paramedicine department trains a wide variety of people to care for the sick and injured.
Basic or entry level courses, such as CPR and First Aid, are offered to the layperson, with advanced courses for students looking for direct employment into entry level to advanced positions in the Emergency Medical Services field.
EMS graduates work for ambulance companies, fire departments, medical air services and hospital emergency departments.
Students who complete courses toward an Emergency Medical Technician certification will be prepared to take the National Registry for Emergency Medical Technician’s exam for national certification.
Yavapai College EMS courses are offered at the Prescott Valley and Verde Valley campuses. Paramedicine courses are offered on the Prescott Valley campus.
