Start YOUR college career with information that will help you succeed by attending New Student Group Advising. This is a free, fun, and informative program that will help you get your Yavapai College career off to a great start.

At New Student Group Advising you will...
- Learn about academic programs and degree requirements
- Hear about the many college resources available to help you accomplish your goals
- Meet some of your fellow students
- Meet with an academic advisor to plan your class schedule and start your academic plan
- Learn how to register for classes
Prior to attending New Student Group Advising you must:
- Apply for admission to Yavapai College.
- Take the reading, writing, and math Compass assessments. Yavapai College believes correct course placement is a powerful factor in student retention and success. Therefore, the college requires assessment of competency in reading, writing, and mathematics. You may be able to take the assessments on the day that you attend New Student Group Advising. Please call the appropriate campus (phone numbers below) to set up your assessment appointment. For more information about the assessments, please click on Testing Services.

When you come to New Student Group Advising, please bring the following:
- Your username and password for access to your Yavapai College portal. (When you apply for admission, you will be provided your username and password at the end of the process.)
- Your Compass assessment results.
- Copies of your transcripts if you have any prior college credit.

New Student Group Advising for the Quad-Cities - 928.776.2106
New Student Group Advising is held on the Prescott Campus on Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. during the summer 2010, beginning May 27.

New Student Group Advising for the Verde Valley Campus - 928.634.6563
New Student Group Advising is held on the Verde Valley Campus every Monday from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and every Thursday from 8:30-10:30 a.m. during the summer 2010, beginning June 21.
