The Paralegal Association of Yavapai is a student club designed to foster a sense of community for those interested in law and legal issues as well as to provide hands-on opportunities for leadership growth, community service and networking with the legal community. Members include current Yavapai College students and alumni.
Members exercise leadership and organizational skills by putting on community service activities throughout the year such as divorce clinics for middle to low income families who don't otherwise qualify for legal aid services, participating in Teen Maze where they hand out information about the law to middle school children, and by managing a Holiday Craft Fair where they earn money to put into a scholarship fund.
Opportunities for networking with the legal community present themselves during the divorce clinic where club members work alongside local attorneys, during mini-seminars featuring local attorneys and paralegals, and during the Teen Maze where they work alongside probation officers, police officers and other community leaders.
