Enjoy lifestyle and leisure classes through our Community Education program featuring hands-on learning and special interest topics. Community Education classes address subjects related to leisure, lifestyle and special interest. Courses range from single day to four to five week classes, are non-credit and are taught by community professionals experienced in their chosen field.
Heather Hurst, Prescott Campus, Coordinator of Community Education and EDventures Program, was born in Redlands, CA and raised on a cattle ranch in central California. After HS she served on a marine biology research team in Costa Rica, studying sea turtle nesting behavior. She received her BA in Cultural Anthropology from NAU and is currently pursuing her Master of Education Degree.
Before relocating to Prescott (her husband is a flight student at ERAU), Heather worked at Riverside Community College (Riverside, CA) for the Foster Youth Emancipation Program assisting youth as they transitioned out of the foster system. Hapkido, a Korean form of self-defense, is a complete martial art. Learn to defend yourself using kicks, strikes, joint locks, throws, wrestling, control techniques and more. Due to the variety of techniques, Hapkido is adaptable to different body types and different situations.
All experience levels welcome. Must be 14 or older. No class week of Thanksgiving.
