Apply for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for Free

Applying for federal financial aid assistance requires the submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The following provides information on the variety of methods that are available:

  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) - This online, no-cost need-analysis provides the information necessary for any federal financial aid award. You can use the link below to access the online FAFSA application. You must include Yavapai College on the application if you want the Financial Aid Office to receive the results electronically. The Yavapai College Title IV code is 001079.
  • Renewal Application - If you applied for federal financial aid in the previous academic year at any college, you complete online and update your financial information.
  • Complete the form online at FAFSA.ED.GOV

  • Apply for a PIN or get a duplicate PIN to sign your FAFSA online at PIN.ED.GOV

  • Students who have completed their files by April 1st will receive priority consideration for additional funding.

Important Steps to Follow

  1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid online. Students who have completed their files by April 1st will receive priority consideration for additional funding.
  2. Approximately four weeks after submitting the FAFSA, students will receive a letter from the Yavapai College Financial Aid Office requesting more information to complete their files. If students are selected for verification, they may be required to complete supplemental forms and provide additional documentation.
  3. Students whose files are complete by the priority deadline will receive an award notification no later than June 15th for the upcoming academic year. Students who apply for financial aid after the priority deadline date will be sent an award notification upon completion of their files. How soon students receive their award notifications depends on the date they completed their files and the accuracy of the information they've provided.
  4. Outstanding balances owed the college will be deducted from the student’s financial aid award. Checks will be available in the Yavapai College Business Office for any remaining balance. Check availability depends on the date the student’s financial aid file was completed and date the student enrolled.
