Student Rights and Responsibilities

When you apply and receive federal financial assistance you have certain rights and responsibilities

The student has a right to know...

  1. Which financial aid programs are available at the College.
  2. The deadlines for submitting applications for each of the programs available.
  3. How financial need is determined, which includes the cost of tuition, room and board, books and supplies, personal, and miscellaneous expenses.
  4. About the refund and repayment policies of the College. Policy
  5. How the Financial Aid Office monitors satisfactory academic progress and the consequences of failing to maintain satisfactory academic progress. Policy

The student has the responsibility to...

  1. Keep a current address on file with the Admissions & Registration Office and the Financial Aid Office.
  2. Complete all applications accurately and submit them on time to the right place.
  3. Provide accurate information.
  4. Submit all additional documentation, verification, corrections, and information requested by the College.
  5. Read, understand, and keep a copy of all forms.
  6. Accept responsibility for all student agreements.
  7. Make satisfactory academic progress toward a degree or certificate.
  8. Notify the Financial Aid Office of any changes in financial status, the number of family members attending college, or household size.
