Yavapai College Foundation Scholarships

More than 70 scholarship funds have been established through the efforts of the Yavapai College Foundation to provide academic assistance to deserving students in disciplines ranging from music to nursing.

Students must have a degree or certificate program as their educational objective and have a grade point average of at least 3.0. Specific scholarships may have additional restrictions. Annual awards range from $500-$2000.

Questions regarding these scholarships should be directed to the Financial Aid Office at either the Prescott campus (928)776-2125 or the Verde Valley campus (928) 634-6563. Come in and check our scholarship board for additional scholarship opportunities sponsored by private donors.

Anonymous Music Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified first year student interested in pursuing a music education and/or participating in music performance activities at Yavapai College.

Arizona Association of Realtors Real Estate Education Scholarship

Available to any qualified business student, preferably with a real estate emphasis.

Arizona Community Foundation Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student.

High School Summer “Bridge” Grants

Yavapai County high school students who will be ending their junior or senior years and recent GED recipients (within the last six months) are eligible to receive a High School Summer Bridge Grant. Up to 3 credit hours will be covered for any course offered during the summer term. This grant does not cover the cost of lab fees or books. Funding is limited and awarded on a first come, first served, basis.

Dr. Ralph Arnold Nursing Scholarship Fund

Available to students enrolled in the Nursing Degree Program at Yavapai College. First preference given to Native American students.

Joe Atkin Scholarship

Available to any qualified student.

Roy Bronander Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to students enrolled in their second year of the Nursing Degree Program.

Carpenter Family Foundation

The Carpenter Family Foundation provides assistance to graduates of Sedona Red Rock High School and the Verde College for Kids.

Yavapai Cattle Growers Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student enrolled in the Yavapai College Agribusiness Technology Program.

Yavapai College Alumni Scholarship Fund

Recipients must be alumni who have completed 30 credits of study, received one degree or certificate, or children of such alumni. A recipient may apply in successive years of study. A GPA maintenance of 3.0 will be required for continuance of the scholarship. Click here for application.

Yavapai College Champions Scholarship

Must be a current or recent ward of the Yavapai County Juvenile Court. Scholarships cover costs for tuition, books, and fees for full or part-time students enrolled in a degree or certificate program, or for those seeking personal enrichment. Separate application is required.

Deadlines are as follows: July 1 for the Fall semester, December 1 for the Spring semester, and May 1 for the Summer semester. If funding is still available, late applications will be accepted.

Child Care Assistance Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student with a child enrolled in the Family Enrichment Center.

Chiropractic Association Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student

Construction Technology Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified construction technology student.

Irene Morrison Davis Piano Scholarship

Available to any qualified full time piano student residing in Arizona.

Caroline Dobberteen Art Scholarship

Available to any qualified art student.

De Rhoads Dolan Scholarship

Available to any qualified student.

Jamie Drew Scholarship

Available to any qualified music student.

Ray A. Elliott, Jr., Family Scholarship Fund

Available to students based on need & past academic performance. Recipient is to be currently enrolled in an advanced program of study at any Yavapai College location, after first obtaining any YC certificate or completing at least 1 year of study at YC in an appropriate program/field of study. 3.5 GPA in previous year(s) of study in related YC program.

Although all YC Certificate holders will be considered, premedical, nursing, emergency services & business management will be favored.

Kenneth C. Fitch and Louise Blake Fitch Scholarship

Available to any student enrolled on the Clarkdale Campus who had at least a B average in their last semester of attendance and who demonstrate financial need.

Foundation General Scholarship

Available to any qualified student.

Artie R. & Mabel L. Frank Scholarship

To assist with tuition and other educational expenses of students, based on their financial needs.

GFWC The Monday Club Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified female student.

Garner-Smith Scholarship Fund

Available to students enrolled in: (1) Nursing Degree Program; (2) Fire Science; (3) Emergency Medical Services; (4) Police Certification/ Law Enforcement; then, any other Public Services program of study.

Sharon Gnagey, R.N., Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified nursing student.

William Grace Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student

Ed Harris Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student pursuing a degree in business or education

Howard and Marion Hahn Scholarship for Family Enrichment

Available to qualified Prescott Campus students for child care assistance.

Taylor Hicks Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student.

Elizabeth Hooker Nursing Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified nursing student, preferably but not limited, to a nontraditional student.

Ralph Hooker/Yavapai County Mounted Sheriff's Posse Memorial Scholarship Fund

Administered by the Scholarship Committee of Yavapai County Mounted Sheriff's Posse to a student of their choice.

Dr. Ray Inscore Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified nursing student

Julia Jeffay Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student with financial need

Jay Johnson Memorial Agricultural Scholarship Fund

Available to any Agribusiness Technology Program student.

Kuebler Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student

LeGate Family Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified nursing student.

Sandra M. Love Memorial Scholarship

Available to any qualified Yavapai College full-time, female "re-entry" student seeking a degree or certificate.

Douglas Charles McLouth Memorial Scholarship

Available to any Bradshaw Mountain High School graduate.

Marie McVicker Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified Yavapai College Verde Valley Campus student.

Marcuson, Peterson, Branson Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified art student.

Yavapai County Medical Society Alliance Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified nursing student.

Sal Mennutti Language Arts Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student pursuing a degree in language arts

Donald B. Miller Scholarship

Available to full-time students in their second year of study pursuing a history degree.  Applicants are required to submit a 500 word essay in response to the following question:

In your opinion, what historical sentinel event of western civilization has contributed the most to the United States’ place in the geopolitical arena of today.

Lee & Marie Mills Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified second year student with a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

Art Morrison Memorial Scholarship

Available to any qualified full-time gunsmith student.

Mathew Mumford Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student who is preferably a United Methodist Church member or other active constituent or, if not a member, a student recommended by the United Methodist Church, its pastors or other church leaders.

Paul Murphy Scholarship

Available to any qualified student.

Yavapai College Music Department Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified performing arts student.

Arthur Nagel Memorial Product Design Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified manufacturing/engineering student.

Clara Nagel Memorial Nature Study Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified biology student.

Nebeker Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified art student.

Nicolai Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified Nursing Degree Program student.

Ardy Jo Noel Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified Nursing Degree Program student.

R.J. Perper Medical Research Scholarship Fund

Available to a full-time student with a g.p.a. of 3.5 or above, having completed introductory biology and chemistry courses. Preference will be given to those who have finished anatomy and physiology and/or microbiology and those enrolled in independent study or internship program(s). Recipient will be chosen by a committee consisting of three part-time or full-time faculty members.

Thurston Phetteplace Memorial Scholarship

Available to any qualified student – not necessarily based on academic excellence but rather on need.

Phillips Health Career Scholarship

Available to any qualified health technologies student.

Prescott Frontier Rotary Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student.

Prescott Summer Pops Symphony Scholarship Fund

Available to qualified Yavapai College students enrolled in any music course.

Scottie Quail Nursing Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified Arizona high school graduate nursing student.

Dorothy Rummel Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified business student in financial need.

Martha and Mary Rummel Family Scholarship Fund

Available to a qualified second year Nursing Degree Program student.

Charles E. Schott Memorial Scholarship

Available to any Prescott High School graduate.

Eugene Scott Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student.

Paul H. Shannon Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified geology student.

Shane Smith Memorial Scholarship

Available to any qualified engineering major who is a Arizona native and a member of VICA.

Southwestern Artists Association Scholarship Fund

Available to a qualified Yavapai County high school graduate enrolled in Visual Arts classes. Recipient must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.0.

Craig Steinbrink Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to students enrolled in (1) Fire Science; (2) Emergency Medical Services; (3) Police Certification/Law Enforcement; then, any other Public Services program. First preference to graduates of Bradshaw Mountain, Chino Valley, Mayer or Prescott High Schools.

Sumter Memorial Scholarship

Available to any qualified student in financial need.

Teacher's Education Scholarship Fund

Available to a full time student, who qualifies for Arizona resident status, is a resident of Yavapai County, and is enrolled in preparatory courses leading to an education major. Recipient must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.0 and preferable 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Recipient must be enrolled in the sophomore year and express an intent to become a teacher.

Tenney Family Scholarship Fund

Available to a full-time student who qualifies for Arizona resident status and is a participant in the Yavapai College Women's Athletic Program.

Dr. Helmet Edward Trucks Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified manufacturing/engineering student.

Veteran’s Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student who is a veteran or a veteran’s dependent

Vision and Hearing Impaired Education Scholarship Fund

Available to a full-time sophomore student residing in Yavapai County and enrolled in preparatory courses leading to a degree or certificate. Preference will be given to a student with a partial or total hearing or visual impairment. Secondary preference will be given to a student with a physical impairment.

Susan Webb Memorial Scholarship Fund

Criteria has not been established.

Wells Fargo Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified business student

Susan A. Williams Memorial Scholarship

Available to any qualified Yavapai College female “re-entry” student seeking a degree or certificate.

Dana Wingate Music Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified music student. Administered by the Music Department faculty.

Woznicki Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified research science student.

Helen R. Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund (I)

Available to any education or health technologies student based on above average grades, need and proven record of dedication. Special consideration will be given to older students who are entering a new profession or upgrading their present educational level.

Helen R. Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund (II)

Available to any qualified biology student, enrolled as a sophomore, and a resident of Yavapai County. Preferably, but not limited to, a graduate of Prescott, Prescott Valley, or Chino Valley High Schools.

Yavapai Symphony Association Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified music student. Administered by the Music Department faculty.

Yule Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student.
