Kurt earned a Bachelors in Psychology at NAU.

Kurt Blum has spent most of his life in the water and began his competitive swimming career in 1979.

He went on to become a Pennsylvania state champion in the 100 Butterfly and 200 Medley Relay as well as earning All-American honors as a high school swimmer.

He swam for Grove City College in Grove City Pennsylvania and has been teaching swimming since 1985.

Kurt has taught swimming lessons in Pittsburgh, Prescott and Prescott Valley and has coached competitive teams in these areas as well.

Kurt Blum created a swimming program for urban youth at St. Philips Academy in Newark, NJ where he also taught Physical Education and Health.

He has studied the mechanics, theory and philosophy of competitive swimming at the Olympic Training center in Colorado Springs with internationally renowned coaches, scientists and swimmers.
