Assistant III
Non-Exempt
Performs advanced nonexempt work requiring understanding of a specific function or body of knowledge. Duties might include: reviewing and approving time reports, determining garnishment amounts, etc.
Works within a specific department and performs high level nonexempt duties that require an advanced knowledge of a unique function within the college
High school diploma or GED required; two years of college preferred
Minimum of four years of experience required, including two in the area of specialty.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficiency in MS Office products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Incumbents may be required to learn applications related to the area of assignment.
Requires tact and courtesy when interacting with others; requires some influencing and work prioritization to accomplish responsibilities
No lead or supervisory responsibilities; explains procedures and provides departmental information for use by others

Coordinates schedule building process for department/division. Acts as Purchasing Liaison. Administrative support for Division. Payroll processing for part time employees and adjunct faculty. Screens incoming calls and correspondence and responds independently when possible. Prepares agendas, notices, and minutes for meetings. Acts as custodian of department/division documents and records. Composes and prepares confidential correspondence, reports, and other complex documents. Makes travel arrangements for supervisor and/or other staff. Creates and maintains database and spreadsheet files.
