Position Has No Lead Responsibilities

Position is not responsible for the work of any Yavapai College employees (other than self).

and/or

Position works as part of a team and all members are responsible for ensuring that team meets its objectives.

Position Has Lead Responsibilities

Position is responsible for training, guiding, and leading employees in the work group, but IS NOT the formal supervisor (i.e., does not sign performance reviews).

Position may coordinate or manage a Yavapai College program or on-going project. The role requires directing the work of other Yavapai College employees and ensuring the quality of work, but the position IS NOT the formal supervisor (i.e., does not sign performance reviews).

Lead responsibilities may encompass directing the work of full time, part time and/or student employees. Lead responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Position Has Supervisory Responsibilities

Position coordinates or manages a Yavapai College program or on-going project AND has formal supervisory duties for two or more full-time (or equivalent) employees (i.e., signs performance reviews).

and/or

Position has formal supervisory responsibilities over two or more full-time (or equivalent) Yavapai College employees. (In other words, position signs the performance reviews for at least  two or more full-time (or equivalent) Yavapai College employees).

and/or

Position supervises employees who also supervise. (In other words, there are employees who report to the people this positions supervises.)

Additionally, Supervisory Responsibilities encompass (but are not limited to) any number of the following activities.

  • Supervise two or more full-time (or equivalent) Yavapai College employees
  • Review the performance of two or more full-time (or equivalent) Yavapai College employees
  • Recommend pay increases/decreases for other Yavapai College employees
  • Recommend promotions/downgrades for other Yavapai College employees
  • Assign work to other Yavapai College employees
  • Discipline other Yavapai College employees
  • Trains, guides, coaches, and develops other Yavapai College employees
  • Interview and hire job applicants
