Systems Administrator I
Non-Exempt
Performs intermediate or advanced nonexempt work requiring application of a specific set of skills usually associated with the trades or computer hardware
Works within a specific department but applies skills throughout the college
High school diploma or GED required; two years of technical training or college required .
Minimum of two years of experience in the trade or technical function; four or more years required at the highest complexity level
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of network server environment to include service and support requirements; computer hardware and software for large computer systems, microcomputers, personal computers and workstations; educational and administrative computer applications; local-area networks, networked workstation attachment, installation and configuration.
Requires tact and courtesy when interacting with others; requires some influencing and work prioritization to accomplish responsibilities across multiple departments
No lead or supervisory responsibilities; explains procedures and provides departmental information for use by others

Plans, coordinates, and installs various operating system and application software on a variety of servers and workstations.
Interfaces with staff assigned to applications development to maintain familiarity with application development.
Resolves customer workstation and software problems.
Configures local area network servers and workstations.
Implements customer network services (i.e. Printing, user accounts).
Installs and maintains network and computer peripherals (e.g. Printers, modems, or related equipment).
Documents, installations, and maintenance of software, devices, and end-user services.
Performs the connection of workstation to the network.
Troubleshoots hardware, software and network connectivity problems.
Performs repairs to computer equipment and associated peripherals.
Performs basic workstation training.
Interacts with network and technical operations staff.
Interacts with software library personnel to ensure proper licensed applications policy and procedure are adhered to.
Performs related duties as assigned.
