Yavapai College is committed to limiting exposure to the harmful effects of primary and secondary smoke to campus students, visitors, and employees. In order to reduce the harmful effects of tobacco use and maintain a healthful working and learning environment, the district prohibits the use of tobacco except in specific areas. Tobacco use on college property is defined as lighted pipes, cigars, cigarettes, and the use of snuff and smokeless tobacco in any form.

The use of tobacco is prohibited in the following areas:
Yavapai College trusts there is a reasonable level of compliance and the community of people should be treated respectfully. These standards and Procedures are not concerned with whether anyone uses tobacco, but where they use tobacco on College property. Complaints and concerns regarding these Procedures may be referred to the College’s Environmental Health and Safety office.
Individuals who do not abide by these Procedures may be asked to immediately refrain from tobacco use. Those who refuse to refrain may be asked to leave the area. Continued violations may result in disciplinary action.
