Director, Residence Hall

The Director, Residence Hall works with students and makes a difference in their lives!

Promote community and student development within housing

Provide supervision of resident assistants and desk personnel

Ensure student welfare and security

Conduct regular meetings with residence life staff and students

Connect students with appropriate resources concerning academic, social and career education goals

Assist with campus-wide collaborative programming: Welcome Week, Spring Kick Off, College Goal Sunday and Evening of Recognition

Rotate on-call duties every three weeks to include holidays and college closures

Serve as a liaison with Student Affairs staff, facilities, food services and Campus Police to maintain sound working relationships

Hall Directors are required to give notice no later than March 15th annually if they chose not to return the following year

  • Department / Location - Student Affairs - Prescott Campus
  • Grade / Salary - Grade: 9, Hiring Range $20,802 - $25,674 (188 days) plus room and board valued at $4,200.
  • The Director position is a nine month position and will begin August 1- May 30 (dates will vary to accommodate nine month schedule). Living arrangements are effective for twelve months.

  • Posted Date - June 30, 2009

Minimum Expectations & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to motivate others
  • Ability to supervise
  • Short and long range planning skills
  • Financial management skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Computer skills
  • Integrity
  • Demonstrated interest in the Student Services field
  • Knowledge of student development theories and practices

Preferred Skills, Abilities & Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education, Counseling or related field
  • Knowledge of college policies and procedures
  • At least one year experience in a leadership position in a college residence hall setting
