Vice President for Finance & Administration

Celebrating over 40 years of serving students, Yavapai College, in central Arizona, encompasses lands as diverse as the red rocks of Sedona, to the cool pines and mountain lakes of Prescott.

The college serves over 11,000 students, from high school age to seniors, in an 8,100 square mile service area and on six campuses.

Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President will serve as the Chief Financial Officer for the District, and will be responsible for the strategic financial planning of the District. The Vice President will oversee and direct the Business and Finance Office, Information Technology, Facilities Management, Human Resources, and Performance Hall.

Responsibilities

Develop annual operating and capital budgets for the District

Develop long range financial projections to ensure the District’s long term financial stability and to ensure compliance with expenditure limitation laws

Coordinate and participate in long range technology strategies for the District

Develop and maintain a five year Capital Improvement Plan

Foster a fair and competitive allocation of District Resources in relation to strategic initiatives

Oversee the development and implementation of a replacement plan for critical equipment

Research and secure alternative funding resources to support the District Master Plan and other aspects of the strategic plans

Develop operational financial and business policies for the College, using accepted standards and regulations

Oversight responsibility for the conversion to Banner Version 8

Represent the College in professional associations and public functions

Attend District Governing Board meetings, and provide necessary information and conduct presentations for the Board

Serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Yavapai College Foundation, and may sit on various Foundation committees

Oversight responsibility of Business Services, Facilities, Human Resources, ITS, and Performance Hall

Minimum Expectations & Requirements:

  • B.S. or B.A. in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of ten years of senior managerial and financial experience
  • Successful candidate will have demonstrated strong leadership, business judgment, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills, Abilities & Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience in higher education
  • Experience with Banner Financial Systems
