Computer and Tuition Loan Programs

At the August 8, 2006 District Governing Board meeting, the Board unanimously approved a revision to our existing Employee Computer Loan Program. The Board reduced the maximum amount allotted for an interest-free computer loan to $1,200, and placed a limit on the reimbursements for peripherals to a maximum of $200 within the total $1,200 loan limit. The Board also established a Tuition Loan Fund to assist employees with continuing education.

The new program will continue to operate within the existing limits of the current loan fund in the amount of $200,000. The resources were allocated as follows: $50,000 for the Tuition Loan Program and $150,000 for the Computer Loan Program. Both funds will operate on a first-come, first-serve basis to the limits of the fund. The loan forms are available on this website via links below.

Both of these programs are highlighted below:

Computer Loan Program:

• Maximum loan = $1,200 (CPU, monitor, mouse, keyboard, and peripherals)
• Maximum peripherals = $200 (i.e. printers, cabling, digital cameras, etc. included in the maximum loan amount)
• Proof of purchase required prior to loan being funded
• One year of full-time employment with the District to be eligible
• One loan every three years
• Two year interest-free loan = 52 biweekly payments

Computer Loan Agreement/Application

Tuition Loan Program:

• Maximum loan per year = $1,000
• One year interest-free loan = 26 biweekly payments
• One year of full-time employment with the District to be eligible
• Proof of enrollment required
• Maximum one loan per year (regardless of amount)
• Course related to position held at college, and/or course related to degree or certificate
• Approval by supervisor
