CCTV

A television-like unit allows for the magnification of text and or graphics. To operate:

  • turn on the television,
  • turn on the magnifier,
  • and place the text under the magnifying unit.

Both the focus and the contrast may be adjusted to obtain a readable display.

Dragon Naturally Speaking

This is a Voice-Recognition program that types your spoken word into a document. It performs best using a Platronics PerSona Headset available upon request. The initial setup of the voice file takes about an hour. Be sure to export and save your voice file to the M: drive.

Corel 9 and 10 - Dragon Naturally Speaking Program:

Corel Word Perfect, on the Learning Center Computers, has a miniature version of the Dragon Naturally Speaking program. This may be used by all students. Headsets are available.

HP SCANNER:

The scanner will copy printed text or diagrams into a computer file. Use either the HP Scanner Software or Omni Page Pro Software to create the computer file. The file may be printed or saved.

JAWS:

This a a computer-generated voice program that will read all icons, program names, and general details of all computer programs. After you Log-in to a resource computer this program will automatically load. It is useful for students with less eyesight or who learn better through hearing. Please use the headphones with this program.

Scan and Read

Please turn JAWS off before running this program or both programs will talk at once. This program allows you to use the HP Scanner to scan in a text and the program will read the text back to you.

Text to Audio

This program will allow you to transfer a text item onto an audio tape.

Keyboard Layout - Dvorak

You can make changes to reflect a Right-Handed or Left-Handed Keyboard Layout. Follow the instructions in the Resource Binder.
