When you browse the Library Catalog, you search every library in the YLN (Yavapai Library Network). When you place a hold, the library that owns the item will send it to your library. You will then be notified that your hold is ready to be picked up.
You may place a hold on an item through the online Library Catalog. You can also place a hold by calling the Prescott Reference desk at 928-776-2261 or the Verde Circulation desk at 928-717-6541.
Most items that are on the shelf will be delivered in 3-7 business days. However, it can take 7-10 days for some holds to be filled.
You will be notified by e-mail if you have an e-mail address in your record. If there is no e-mail address, a notice will be sent to you by postal mail.
Items that have not been picked up after 7 days are returned to their respective library.
When placing a hold, you have the option of choosing which library you want to pick up the item at.
Some items have restrictions that prevent them having a hold placed on them. For example, Reference books and "faculty use only" items are not allowed to leave their respective libraries. Owing fines to the library will also prevent you from placing a hold on items through the online Library Catalog.
Call the Circulation desk at 928-776-2260 (Prescott) or 928-717-6541 (Verde).
