Plug-ins and Viewers

What is a plug-in?

A "plug-in" is a software program that enhances the capabilities of your browser. For instance, a Flash Player allows you to view multimedia presentations or interact with 3D games.

There are also free viewers that you can download which allow you to view documents, even though you don't have the full program loaded on your computer. An example of this would be the free Adobe Acrobat Viewer for viewing PDF files, or the free PowerPoint viewer, which lets you view PowerPoint presentations.
