English and Math Skills Assessment
Why take the skills assessment?
Yavapai College believes correct course placement is a powerful factor in student retention and success. Therefore, the college requires mandatory individualized academic advisement and assessment of competency in reading, writing, and mathematics. Before taking the skills assessment, prospective students must complete the Yavapai College application.
Yavapai College offers SOAR - Student Orientation, Assessment / Advisement, and Registration to help new students get their college career off to a great start. SOAR is a FREE 4 hour program designed to be fun, informative, and provide the academic advisement and assessment that is required. Click here to register for SOAR and for a listing of SOAR days.
