FRIENDS of Yavapai College Art is a member-driven organization that supports:
Merit-based scholarships are awarded each year to students pursuing degrees and aspiring to careers in the visual arts. The visual arts department benefits through FRIENDS' funding for special projects and essential equipment not possible through the college's normal budgeting process.
A sculpture garden characterized by stunning, unique works of art graces the grounds adjacent to the college's Performance Hall on the Prescott Campus. Upon completion, the four-acre garden will house up to 30 contemporary sculptures in a variety of media. FRIENDS' members raise money for art acquisition through donor purchase of trees, bricks and benches, monetary contributions, and fundraising events.
The YC Art Gallery is a vital component of visual arts instruction, giving undergraduates an opportunity to study and appreciate the works of professional, contemporary artists and providing them a venue to display their art through student juried art exhibitions.
Art a la Carte, a series of art talks on a wide range of topics, is one of the area’s premier public art events. This free program provides enthusiasts with unparalleled opportunities for visual arts appreciation and education. Lively, interactive talks are led by artists, docents and educators who are recognized experts in their field of discussion.
