Yavapai College Adult Basic Education programs provide adults with instruction to improve basic reading, writing, and math and English skills and in preparing you for the GED test and transition to the workplace or college certificate and degree programs.
We help hundreds of people just like you earn their GEDs each year: single moms, working dads, teenagers, grandparents, someone looking to get a job, and working professionals.

Need to improve your English skills?
Our English as a second language (ESL) program offers free classes for beginning to advanced level learners. You will learn practical English conversation, reading, and writing, both individually and in small groups.
Maybe you're in the process of earning a GED or have one, or you're taking ESL classes but you're not quite sure what to do next.
People from 16 years of age and up who had challenging life situations which made continuing their education difficult discover the secret of becoming a successful student through the Adult Education services at Yavapai College.
While many of the students reported feeling scared, overwhelmed, unsure or anxious about what to do next -- all of them discovered that they could become very successful with a little help from Adult Education services.
