Two Class Offered - Each Based on Specific Needs:

EMS 120: Heart Saver First Aid CPR & AED
Credit Hours: (.5)

This is designed to instruct the student to assist with CPR and First Aid for victims of all ages. It includes the use of the AED or automated external defibrillator. Basic recognition and care of the Medical and Trauma patients. Awareness of environmental emergencies including bites, stings, and exposure to hot and cold. Meets the requirements of Heartsaver First Aid by the American Heart Association.

Card will be issued and last for two years.

EMS 123: CPR for Health Care Providers & AED
Credit Hours: (.5)

CPR for victims of all ages. Includes ventilation with a barrier device, use of a bag-valve-mask device, assist with a choking victim, and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Meets the requirements of Healthcare Provider CPR and AED by the American Heart Association.

Card will be issued and last for two years.

  3. A final 25 question written test and skills exam

Requirements for Entry

Pre-Course Requirements

For EMS 123, a book is required to receive a CPR card. (BLS for Healthcare Providers - Student Manual #90-1038)
