  1. Apply for admission to Yavapai College.
  2. Take the reading, writing, and math Compass assessments. Yavapai College believes correct course placement is a powerful factor in student retention and success. Therefore, the college requires assessment of competency in reading, writing, and mathematics. You may be able to take the assessments on the day that you attend New Student Group Advising.

When you come to New Student Group Advising, please bring the following:

  1. Your username and password for access to your Yavapai College portal. (When you apply for admission, you will be provided your username and password at the end of the process.)
  2. Your Compass assessment results.
  3. Copies of your transcripts if you have any prior college credit.
