Even though your school days are behind you there are plenty of rewarding opportunities waiting for you to give back, and we list a few of them below.

There are Many Ways to Make a Gift through the YC Foundation

Many students attending Yavapai College do so on a limited budget. Many others are unable to attend due to financial hardship. The Yavapai College Foundation can help you determine the type of gift that enables you to give the most. There are also several ways to establish a scholarship.

Alumni Outreach Scholarship Fund

Creating a scholarship fund is a wonderful way to inspire and support our current students. We have created this fund to recognize the contribution that education has made in our lives and to provide financial assistance for qualified students as they pursue their education.

The Alumni Board selected this year's recipients of the Alumni Student Scholarship Fund. Jackie Greenrock, Scholarship Chair, in photo at far left, reported we raised $5,000 from last year’s talent show. A portion of the funds raised has been set aside to accumulate the $10,000 required for an endowed fund.

This spring we gave three @ $500 scholarships from the proceeds. We received 26 applications and were able to give an additional ten @ $500 thanks to a generous donation from Perry Massie of the Yavapai College Foundation Board. Because of him we are able to “touch the lives of ten more people in need.” If you would like to contribute as Mr. Massie did this year, contact the Alumni Outreach Director at (928) 776-2359.

Recipients are Damien Browning, Heather Campbell, Lisa Clifford, Vanessa Corpuz, Cartherine Crayton, Marilyn Sturges, Debra Earl, Shiloh Fernandez, Darlene Olsen, Bruce Robertson, Alva Teskey, Victoria Winters, and Tiffany Young. Jackie and her committee will now begin to seek donations for next semester.

An alumni committee meets annually and works with the Yavapai College Office of Financial Aid to select the recipients. Scholarships are awarded based on need and administered and disbursed by the Yavapai College Office of Financial Aid according to established policy.

Nursing Student Support Fund

These funds are intended for nursing student emergency needs throughout the academic year. We encourage graduates of our nursing programs to contribute to this fund.

A committee of alumni representatives will meet at least annually, and will receive updates and summaries of the use of funds collected.

Due to the urgency of the requests submitted to this fund, the Division Dean of the Nursing and Allied Health Department will administer and disburse these funds.
