Disability Resources at Yavapai College

Welcome to Disability Resources at Yavapai College. We provide extensive services at no charge for students with disabilities ranging from mobility needs, hearing or vision impairment, to learning disabilities. Our mission is to ensure qualified students with disabilities equal access and reasonable accommodations in all Yavapai College academic programs and activities. This office supports disability and accessibility awareness and promotes a welcoming environment to all.

Disability Questions & Answers

The Disability Resources office can answer disability-related questions and help you with the accommodation you need to achieve your best possible college experience. Maybe you've asked yourself these questions:

  • I think I need some special help--do I qualify?
  • Can someone take notes for me?
  • Are there alternative textbooks?
  • Will YC provide a sign language interpreter?
  • Are there adaptive computers I can use?
  • I need longer testing time.

Disability Resources helps all disabled Yavapai College students whether enrolled in regular YC classes, OLLI or Community Education classes.

The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability and require Yavapai College to make reasonable accommodations for those otherwise qualified individuals with a disability who request accommodations.
