What types of services are provided by Facility Services?

Landscape services, renovations, keys, repairs, custodial services, automotive repairs, estimates, HVAC, moves, special event set-ups, space programming, provide general knowledge of campus design and layout.

Who do I contact when I have a maintenance request?

Requests for services can be requested through Facilities (776.2180) or e-mail (facility@yc.edu). Complete information including campus, building, room location, and description of work request is needed in order to process requests.

What is considered an emergency/routine call?

If there is an urgent emergency, contact Campus Police (928-776-2185). Emergency calls are those that involve potential threat or damage to life or property (gas leak, fire alarms, water leaks, etc.) Routine calls are usually requests for services that can be scheduled (painting, light bulbs, keys, etc.)

Who do I contact when a job is incomplete?

Facilities (928-776-2180) should be notified first.

What do I do when my office, lab, or classroom is too hot or too cold?

You can call Facilities (928-776-2180) All temperature calls are handled in the following manner: Once your call is received, a work order is computer generated with your requestor information: name, time and date of call, location, description of problem. The work order is immediately given to an HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) supervisor who has on-line access to our computerized energy management system. In the majority of calls, the HVAC supervisor can handle your temperature problem via the computer. In addition the HVAC supervisor has air-conditioning technicians that he can radio dispatch to your location.

How do I request keys?

You must have an e-mail from your approved supervisor sent to Facilities before a request will be processed, e-mail from the dean/department director approving the request. Include the name of the person needing the key (s), the department, the building number (s), the room number (s) Keys must be picked up in person from the Facilities Management office. A key form must be completed before the key(s) will be released. Download guidelines.

How do I request the use of a College van?

YC Unlock Procedures

1. Facilities we will do the initial unlock of rooms utilizing the FacUse Report and will only unlock for morning classes scheduled.
2. Classrooms with specialized equipment in the room will not get unlocked. Users of these rooms must have keys
3. For security reasons, we do not unlock rooms in the morning if only an afternoon or evening class is schedule.
4. We do not unlock staff offices under any circumstance. Must call Campus Safety.
5. The department supervisor is responsible for making sure classrooms are unlocked for their scheduled uses.
6. The department head can request keys to be issued to the faculty member teaching classes meeting on a regular schedule.
