These grants are awarded to meet financial eligibility as determined by an analysis of the information submitted on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). They do not require repayment.
Since grants are based on financial eligibility along with other factors, awards may vary from year to year depending upon the economic situation of the family.
You must file the FAFSA with the Federal Processor each year to be considered for grant programs.
Transfer Monitoring Requirement for Federal Funds: Transfer Monitoring is the process by which schools must verify with the Department of Education, via the National Student Loans Database System (NSLDS), eligibility for federal financial aid for students who begin their study mid-year or during the summer at Yavapai College. Once transfer monitoring for a student is reported to NSLDS, Yavapai College is required to wait seven (7) days before funds can be disbursed to the student. This process must be done even if the student did not receive financial aid at any other school. There is no action required by the student during this process.
The Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy for financial aid recipients will change at the end of the Spring 2012 semester. This change is due to new federal regulations. Click the graphic to learn more.
