The purpose of the Human Subjects Review Board (HSRB) is to protect the rights of human subjects in research. This includes making sure that all populations are protected (i.e., students, faculty, staff, etc.) and that informed consent is maintained for participation in research. The HSRB also monitors non-Yavapai College researchers seeking to conduct research at any of our campuses or learning centers.
Through federal-wide assurance, the President agreed that ALL research and grant activities at Yavapai College must conform to the Belmont Report and 45 CFR 46, through HSRB approval or exemption.
Please refer to the Manual for Human Subjects Review for more information on procedures, sample required forms, and an application. In addition, the related administrative policy, YC Human Subjects Review Board Policy, provides an overview and rationale for human subjects research.
