Welcome to Yavapai College! Our mission here at Yavapai College is to provide high-quality, convenient and cost-effective learning opportunities for the diverse population of Yavapai County.

Penny Wills

Let me be one of the first to welcome you to your College!  Whether you are beginning your studies in a new field, taking a course to advance your career, or enjoying your continued life-long learning, Yavapai College is your best choice.

In addition to our nationally recognized educational and training programs, we offer our communities convenient course times, small classes, and the latest in technology.  Of our seven campuses, one is probably very near your home.  If distance or time is a concern, please review our extensive opportunities for on-line classes.

Our faculty and staff are known for making your success their top priority.  Our student support services work closely with you to make your college experience be the most productive and enjoyable.

Let me also invite you to come to your College and enjoy the many activities that we offer our communities.  Our Performance Hall schedule of cultural events is outstanding!  Our athletic teams are nationally ranked and our art galleries and sculpture gardens are relaxing!

Biography of Dr. Penelope H. Wills


Dr. Penelope Wills assumed the position of Yavapai College President in August 2011.  She holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Michigan State University, an M.S. in Counseling from Miami University, Ohio, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Cincinnati.

Prior to her arrival in Arizona, Dr. Wills was the president of Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) since 2004.  Her career includes various leadership positions in higher education at the state, regional, and national levels.

Dr. Wills has extensive experience in such fields as student development, assessment, planning, and quality improvement.  Her positive reputation for forming effective partnerships with industry, K-12, and state agencies is well recognized.
