Admissions

Old Dominion University now provides immediate admissions decisions for those who apply for undergraduate admission to Old Dominion University directly through their site.

How Do You Apply?

  1. Submit a completed, hard copy ODU application (online submitted applications are not applicable to immediate decision process).
  2. Include the $50 application fee with your application (paid by check or money order; fee is waived for students on a Pell Grant).
  3. Submit résumé, supplemental application or Military Transcripts (SMART, etc. ) as applicable.
  4. Request official transcripts from all previously attended colleges or universities be sent to your local ODU Site Director and confirm that they have been received.
  5. Schedule an appointment with the Site Director to review your application and receive your Immediate Admission decision!

Admissions Application

If admitted:The Site Director will discuss your unofficial transcript evaluation and the curriculum sheet for your intended major.

If denied admission:The Site Director will work with you to chart a path toward future admissions success. Admissions denial is often a short-term slowdown, not a permanent block to admission.

Departments that Need Supplemental Application

Several departments require a supplemental application in addition to the regular undergraduate application. Download the appropriate supplemental application from these links for your program and submit to your local site. If you have questions as to whether you need to fill out a supplemental application in addition to your regular application please contact your local site.

Please submit all admission paperwork to your local site. Do not submit online or send to Old Dominion University in Virginia.

  1. Complete an unofficial degree evaluation or go on LEO Online.
  2. Check for Student Holds in Leo Online or with the Registrar.
  3. Meet with the Site Director to discuss degree evaluation and remove advisor holds.
  4. Review the schedule of classes and register during your time ticket schedule.
  5. Add/Drop/Withdraw

Class Schedule

Four Delivery Methods

• Satellite Delivery

Satellite delivery to the local classroom. Students are expected to attend the classroom lectures, and will be required to take all tests as scheduled at the local site.

• 2-way Audio and Visual Connection

Course lectures will be delivered in a manner which allows the instructor to have 2-way video and audio connection with the students in their classroom. This delivery method is not available at all sites.

• Web Based Delivery

Web based delivery means the students will receive all or part of their instruction via an online method. A high bandwidth internet connection is necessary for this delivery method. Students should have a good working knowledge of the internet and Blackboard for this method of class delivery.

• Video Streaming

This method of delivery for course lecture allows the student to access their lectures via their home or work computer. Students who are interested in participating in this type of lecture should complete the video streaming orientation and computer compatibility test at http://dl.odu.edu/tools/vstream/index.shtml A high bandwidth internet connection is necessary for this delivery method. Limited Enrollment.

Note: Not all degree programs, courses or delivery methods are offered at every Distance Learning site. Current and prospective students are advised to contact their local site office for the most accurate information regarding course schedules. This is a dynamic schedule, and changes can be made without prior notice until the first day of the semester.
