Resident Assistants (RAs) for YC Residence Halls

Now Accepting Applications for Fall 2012!

Our staff of resident assistants is here to help our students adjust to college and build relationships. They have been selected for their desire to work with people, their leadership abilities and their human relation skills. They also work to establish a positive living and learning environment in their building and are available to assist residents with academic, social, personal and other concerns.

RAs uphold college policies for the safety and wellbeing of our residents, and live and work within the Residence Halls.

Would you like to join our team?

Here are some of the requirements:

  1. RA applicants must have at least 1 semester living on campus (at any institution, but YC residence halls preferred)
  2. RA applicants must be in good standing with Yavapai College
  3. RAs must maintain a 2.75 GPA (semester and cumulative)

What does the role entail? Here are some role responsibilities:

  • RAs build relationships with their residents and residents with each other
  • RAs plan and implement monthly programs
  • RAs participate in on-call rotations where they confront policy violations
  • RAs work weekly hours at our front desks

Resident Assistant Applications for Fall 2012:

  • Resident Assistant Applications for Fall 2012 are due to Paige Ruggles by 3:00 pm on Friday, April 13, 2012 in Building 10 room 136.
  • Individual interviews will take place the week of April 16, 2012.
  • Group interviews will take place the week of April 23, 2012.
