The Student Support Services (SSS) TRiO program provides academic support to students -who qualify- while they earn their degree. Its purpose is to assist first-generation college students who have low to moderate incomes and/or students who have a documented disability. It is a federally funded grant program created by the Higher Education Act of 1965. SSS TRIO is offered by many colleges and universities across the country. At Yavapai College, SSS TRiO serves 300 students a year.
