Student Support Services TRiO Program

There is no cost to the program's participants. SSS TRiO services are free to qualifying students.

What is the Student Support Services TRiO program?

The Student Support Services (SSS) TRiO program provides academic support to students -who qualify- while they earn their degree. Its purpose is to assist first-generation college students who have low to moderate incomes and/or students who have a documented disability. It is a federally funded grant program created by the Higher Education Act of 1965. SSS TRIO is offered by many colleges and universities across the country. At Yavapai College, SSS TRiO serves 300 students a year.


SSS students receive the following FREE services:

  • Extensive Academic Advising
  • Individual Tutoring
  • Mentoring
  • College Success Workshops
  • Transfer Advising
  • University Campus Visits
  • And More!

You can join SSS-TRiO if...

  1. Neither of your parents has a Bachelor's Degree, or
  2. Receiving a Pell Grant or meet financial aid guidelines, or
  3. Using Disability Resources, and
  4. Working Toward an Associates Degree, and
  5. Enrolled in 9 academic credits

There is no cost to the program's participants. SSS TRIO services are free to qualifying students.
