How do I move Tegrity sessions from one semester's Blackboard course to another?

  1. Open the Tegrity viewer page in the course you want to move sessions from.
  2. Select the session(s) you want to move by checking the box to the left of the session.
  3. Then select Move or Copy from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the window.
  4. In the dialogue box that opens, select the course you want to move them to and click "OK". They will be queued and the process should take a few hour to one day depending on the amount of content.

The "Tegrity Classes" button is missing from my Blackboard course

You simply have to record a new Tegrity session - a 10-second test will do - and upload it to the course. The button should appear shortly after that.

My Recording shows "Available Soon" or are missing. What should I do?

If it isn't available after 24 hours, there was probably some problem during upload. You can re-upload it from the computer it was made on by following these steps (in Windows):

  1. Open Windows Explorer and go to C:\Program Files\Tegrity\Recorder folder in WindowsXP OR C:\Program Files (x86)\Tegrity\Recorder folder in Windows7
  2. Locate a file named SUPPORTPPQ.exe.
  3. Double click on it.
  4. In the “Session Folder” field, browse to the folder that contains the recording that you want to re-upload. For example, If the recording name was “My Monday Recording” the folder location in WindowsXP should be: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Tegrity\recordings\My Monday Recording, on Windows7 recordings are in C:\Program Data\Tegrity\Recordings
  5. Select the "Force Re-Upload" checkbox.
  6. Keep the "Use settings from preferences" checkbox selected.
  7. Click on the Add button.

Repeat steps 3 thru 6 for each additional recording that you want to re-upload. Once all of the recordings are added to the upload queue, close the SupportPPQ.exe window. In order to check whether the sessions were added to the upload queue, right click on the Tegrity icon located on your task bar and select "Check upload queue". The sessions should be located there. Note: Only recordings captured on a PC can be re-uploaded. Currently, there is no method to re-upload recordings captured on a Mac. If you need to re-upload a recording captured on a Mac, please contact TELS, 771-6120.

Can I make a link to sessions from anywhere in Blackboard? Embedding?

Yes, and thankfully it's easier than before to link Tegrity sessions anywhere or email the session link to your students.

  1. Open the Tegrity Viewer page.
  2. Check the box to the left of the recording name.
  3. In the "Actions" drop-down menu in the bottom left, select "Get Class Link".
  4. UNCHECK "Do not allow anonymous users to view the recording", which allows viewing without login, and opens up the embed code BUT BUT BUT - the embed code is not currently working so please do not use it.
  5. Copy the link, which you can paste into Blackboard, a web site, or paste the link into an email message.

Does Tegrity Work in Google's Chrome Browser?

They play in the Chrome. However, the Tegrity Classes button may not pop open the Tegrity viewer page

Can I use Tegrity on a Macintosh Computer?

Yes, you can watch and record on a Mac. All recordings made after January 2008 are viewable on Macs running OS 10.5 or later (although it has worked with 10.4). AND Instructors may now make recordings on a Mac. Recordings made earlier are only viewable on Windows, though the podcast versions are available for both platforms.

Safari browser issue: no 64bit

Tegrity doesn't support the 64bit version of Mac's Safari browser. The issue can be fixed by changing the browser settings to 32bit mode.

Can I use one session for more than one course?

Yes. In the Tegrity viewer page, select the session(s) you want to copy by checking the box to the far left of the session, then select "Copy" from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the page. In the dialogue box that opens, click on the "Search" button to show a list of your Blackboard courses. Select the course you want to copy to and click "OK".

Does Tegrity work in Vista?

YES, it does EXCEPT in Vista 64-bit version. You will have to disable Vistas UAC security settings before installing.

Naming Sessions: Don't Use A "&"!!

Using the ampersand (&) in the name of a session will cause problems, so just don't.

Actions Menu Not Visible

If the "More Actions" drop-down menu at the bottom of the Tegrity viewer page is not there, maximize the window. You should then be able to see the content at the bottom of that window.

Editing works best in IE

Working in Internet Explorer will give you the best results when editing your recordings, renaming, etc.
