Financial aid recipients who have not graduated from high school and who do not hold a GED certificate must take an exam designed to determine their Ability-to-Benefit (ATB) from a college education program. Individuals must be at least sixteen years of age.
At Yavapai an individual may demonstrate an "ability to benefit" by taking the COMPASS assessment (computer-based testing). The assessment is untimed but typically takes approximately 2 hours. The results from this testing may also be used for the English and Math skills assessment.
