CLEP Testing
You can receive college credit for what you already know by earning qualifying scores on any one or more of the 33 CLEP examinations.
About the CLEP Test
More than 2,900 colleges and universities in the United States will recognize this demonstration of your knowledge. Each college or university sets its own CLEP policy regarding how much credit will be granted and for which courses. A score of 50 is required to receive credit from Yavapai College. CLEP scores must be sent directly from CLEP to the YC registrar's office.
You must pre-register for CLEP
Visit the Assessment & Testing Center on the Prescott Campus, Bldg 1-225, to complete the necessary registration form, pay the $15 Yavapai College proctor fee, and sign up for a test date.
You may print off and complete the registration form from the CLEP webpage and complete it prior to coming in. You may also mail it to the address below with a $15 check made out to Yavapai College:

You must bring two forms of photo identification
- Primary ID list
- driver's license
- passport
- government-issued ID, etc
- Secondary ID list
- current employee photo ID
- current student photo ID
- social security card
- military ID (Common Access Card)
- an unused ID from the primary choices above
Additional Information
- YC fee $15 check/cash due at pre-registration
- Testing begins at 1:00 pm
- CLEP fee $77 check/money order/credit card due day of test paid directly to CLEP
- Bring 2 approved IDs to test
- Exams are computer-based and 90 mins in length
- There is a $10 reschedule fee
