The Friends of Music

This volunteer group, the newest auxiliary of the YC Foundation, supports choral and instrumental music programs through fundraising for scholarships and departmental needs and raising awareness of concerts and music activities.

Enhancing music education at Yavapai College

The Friends of Music – Yavapai College, founded in fall of 2009, brings together those who love and support the Music Department programs at YC.

Their “Pocket Change” campaign has become a tradition at music department concerts. Audience members can toss their “Pocket Change” into buckets in the lobby. Several music student private lesson scholarships have already been awarded.

Six choirs, an orchestra, five bands, and jazz combos bring students and community members together to make beautiful music and provide the surrounding area with six to seven, low-cost concerts each semester.
