Yavapai College offers a differential pricing model which eliminates almost all course fees and provided more transparent pricing.  The following information pertains to regular academic ("for-credit") classes at Yavapai College - if you are looking for cost information for non-credit classes.

Commuter Meal Plan

The Commuter Meal Plan is available to non-resident hall students only. The cost of the plan is as follows:

  • Semester cost: $700
  • 5 meals per week
  • + $45 Roughrider dollars per semester

To purchase a Commuter Meal Plan please call 928-776-2220 or email residence.life@yc.edu.

The Commuter Meal Plan will be activated when full payment has been made, or a payment plan has been set up or there is an approved financial aid award on account sufficient to satisfy the balance due. Payment can be made on the YC Website after logging in, click on “My Services”, then “Students”, then “My Bills and Payments” or in person at the Prescott or Verde campus cashier stations. Questions regarding payment can be directed to the Business Office at 928-776-2140 or bursar@yc.edu.

The Commuter Meal Plan operates on a weekly declining balance and does not roll over for unused meals. Meals can only be spent on the food that is made on the premises. The meals are counted Friday through Thursday. If you run out of meals before Thursday, you will get a new set of meals to use beginning on Friday morning. Meal plans are not transferable and may not be used for purchase by anyone other than the card holder.

Roughrider Dollars

Roughrider Dollars are used to purchase pre-packaged items, extra portions, and meals for friends/guests. Roughrider Dollars operate on a declining balance over the course of the semester and do not roll over the following semester nor are they refundable.

Flexi Cash

Flexi Cash is money that is put on your Yavapai I.D. card (read more about the OneCard here) and is deducted as you use it. It can also be used to supplement meal plans if you run out of meals or Roughrider Dollars.

When using Flexi-cash a 10% Food Court discount is given at the register at time of purchase. You may deposit funds to your Flexi Cash at the Business Office or online through your portal homepage. Flexi Cash may be spent at your discretion on your friends, guests, etc.
