Yavapai College Sedona Center Overview

The Yavapai College Sedona Center offers students a beautiful and inspiring environment in which to reach their educational goals. The Center is home to the vibrant (over 300 students each session) Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, the Small Business Development Center, Community Education for the Verde Valley and for-credit classes in music. Some of these programs have part time on-campus representation, therefore it is advised to make an appointment.

The Sedona Center provides education in many different formats such as part-time and full-time classes, workshops, day, evening, and weekend classes as well as 'intensives' featuring full-time instruction in short sessions.

Sky Diamonds Cast 2014 Sky... Diamonds by Kate Hawkes

  • November 1 and 2, 2014
  • A 90 minute one-act, tells the story of 3 generations - a grandmother, her son (Tom) and his daughter (Sallie) - as they negotiate the effects of Alzheimer's Disease over a period of ten years. Working backwards in time from the end of her disease to her 60th birthday party, the audience comes to know the vibrant, eccentric and central character she was in all their lives. From the point of view of Monique, we learn that she went to Woodstock, believes in the power of family and storytelling, and how make a good cup of tea. Linked together with music of the 60s and 70s, these scenes of Monique's life will have you laughing, catching your breath and ultimately leaving the theatre inspired to connect with your family by sharing your stories.

"I found myself laughing and then suddenly crying as Monique danced on the table. I cried for what was to come because you did it backwards." "revealing, engaging, healing" "You really nailed the family issues." (Audience members, 2005)
