You can receive college credit for what you already know by earning qualifying scores on any one or more of the 33 CLEP examinations.
More than 2,900 colleges and universities in the United States will recognize this demonstration of your knowledge. Each college or university sets its own CLEP policy regarding how much credit will be granted and for which courses. A score of 50 is required to receive credit from Yavapai College. Exams are computer-based and 90 mins in length (College Composition 120 mins).
The CLEP retest policy has changed. All CLEP test-takers who tested after Oct. 17, 2014, only have to wait three months (not six months) to retake a CLEP exam. Those who tested before Oct. 17, 2014, must still wait six months in order to retest. Scores from exams retaken too early will be invalidated.
