Invest in Yavapai College

Yavapai County needs a well-trained, educated workforce to help build a stronger local economy. Investing in Yavapai College is an investment in the future for each of us.

Community colleges today are recognized as leaders for economic growth. As new industries develop, local employers are relying heavily on Yavapai College to train the workforce. This is increasingly difficult as state funding for community colleges continues to be cut each year. YC now receives just 8% of their funding from the State of Arizona.

Your support of the Yavapai College Foundation is needed to help build our local economy. There are many ways to give and many types of gifts. Our website outlines all of the opportunities available for you to invest in Yavapai College and your community.

Scholarships

Scholarships from more than 104 endowed funds benefit hundreds of students each year, with almost $2 million awarded to deserving undergraduates over the last 20 years. These funds have provided a promising future to thousands of students who otherwise would not have been able to pursue their dreams.

Scholarship donors may give to a specific named fund, establish a new fund, or make an unrestricted contribution.

President’s Priority Fund

This fund enables the YC president to meet emerging strategic priorities of the College and respond to emergency funding needs of faculty, staff and students.

For example, if a piece of chemistry equipment breaks, the President can use this fund for immediate replacement, thereby keeping the class moving and the students learning.

Create Your Own Scholarship

Criteria for scholarships are determined by the donor at the time of fund establishment. They may include academic performance, financial need, program of study, extracurricular activities, and ethnic and/or social background.

Create Your Legacy

In generations to come, no one will remember what house you lived in or what car you drove. What they will remember is the difference you made while you were here.

One of the easiest and most effective ways to make a difference and touch the future is to leave a legacy.

One of the benefits of having a valid will in place is the peace of mind you experience. To know that a plan is in place and that you have cared for the needs of your loved ones and favorite charities – that you have arranged your affairs thoughtfully – can allow you to sleep just a little more comfortably at night.

The YC Foundation staff has complimentary materials to help you with your legacy. Our “will kit” contains information about basic estate planning and how to prepare for your visit with your attorney. It also includes sample bequest language should you choose to include the Yavapai College Foundation in your plans.

The Foundation provides this information to make sure your wishes concerning your charitable giving will be carried out and your loved ones will have a good feeling knowing that you have cared for such an important matter.
