Accounting

Yavapai College accounting classes prepare students for successful, productive employment in accounting and related fields, provide an environment in which existing accounting skills are upgraded and new skills are learned, or prepare students for successful transfer to business and accounting programs at other institutions.  
 
At the completion of the program, students will be able to:  

 

• Apply accounting principles to prepare general purpose financial and tax statements in an office setting.  
  
• Identify and analyze ethical issues in business.  
  
• Synthesize basic accounting theory with financial accounting applications.  
  
• Utilize critical thinking in addressing accounting issues.  
  
• Prepare basic income tax returns.  
  

Accounting classes are offered on the Prescott, Prescott Valley, Verde Valley and Sedona campuses and in a variety of formats, including traditional classroom, online, hybrid and interactive.
