French

Yavapai College offers French classes to give students the opportunity to acquire proficiency in communication in the language by means of a wide variety of activities in class and on the computer. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing in the target language are practiced in each class.  
 
By completing French courses students can:  
• Transfer modern language credits to universities  
• Broaden their employment opportunities and/or command a higher salary by becoming proficient in another language  
• Use the languages within the U.S. and abroad, and/or for the enjoyment of foreign literature, film, and music  
• Jumpstart a major in a language  
• Prepare for study abroad programs in another country  
• Expand their empathy toward speakers of other languages  
• Develop an understanding of cultures and practices that are not their own  
 
French classes are available on the Prescott and Verde Valley campuses.
