The Graphic Design program prepares students for employment in entry-level positions in the graphic design, digital photography and advertising fields. Areas of emphasis include design, illustration, web design and digital photography. Students explore design principles, develop layout and image editing skills and prepare portfolios for employment or transfer to 4-year schools.
Graduates from the 2-year degree program are qualified for entry-level positions in design firms, printing companies and commercial photography studios. Students may also transfer many of the courses in the degree program to state universities and art schools. Other students prefer to do freelance work or enhance their current careers with design and publishing skills.
Students on the Prescott Campus design and produce the award-winning Threshold Creative Arts Magazine each spring. The magazine features art and writing created by YC students across the college district.
Graphic Design courses are offered in Prescott, Verde Valley, and Sedona.
