Geology

Geology classes cover topics ranging from the study of rocks and minerals, fossils, topographic and geologic map reading, to plate tectonics and its many and far-reaching implications. We also cover the in-depth geologic study of areas of particular interest in the Southwest, such as the Grand Canyon, Meteor Crater, Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon, the Prescott area and much, much more.  
 
Many of our classes are attended by retirees and community members who are interested in learning more about the wonderful rocks and geologic features of the Southwest.  
 
Geology classes are offered on the Prescott, Verde Valley and Sedona campuses.
