Yavapai College Journalism courses give students real-world practice in reporting and writing for the print media, including news, features, sports and editorial writing and a background in the mass media and its impact on American society.
Journalism classes benefit all students as they improve writing ability and help writers get to the heart of the matter, logically organize their material and present their information with clarity and brevity. Students who study the media increase their media literacy, thereby lessening the media’s impact upon them and becoming better news consumers.
Journalism courses are offered on the Prescott and Verde Valley campuses.
