Sociology is the study of human interaction, of how we organize our world of social relationships and of social groups. Areas of emphasis include culture, socialization, social problems, race/ethnicity, gender, and forms of social stratification. Students may continue to pursue further studies in sociology, leading to careers in teaching, research, or social services. For general studies students, the understanding of diversity, culture, social stratification and human behavior will contribute to success in virtually any career, whether social services, nursing, business, public relations, etc.
Sociology courses are offered on the Prescott and Verde Valley campuses and online.
